أَلَمْ يَ‍‍جْ‍‍عَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَ‍‍ضْ‍‍لِيلٍ

‘Alam Yaj`al Kaydahum Fī Tađlīlin

Did He not make their plot go astray?

وَ‌أَ‌رْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَ‍‍يْر‌اً‌ ‌أَبَابِيلَ

Wa ‘Arsala `Alayhim Ţayrāan ‘Abābīla

And sent against them birds, in flocks

تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَا‌‍رَةٍ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ سِجِّيلٍ

Tarmīhim Biĥijāratin Min Sijjīlin

Striking them with stones of Sijjīl.

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَ‍‍صْ‍‍فٍ‌ مَأْكُولٍ

Faja`alahum Ka`aşfin Ma’kūlin

And made them like an empty field of stalks (of which the corn has been eaten up by cattle).
